With boredom hanging heavy in the rainy midsummer air that nagging voice beckons all to that holy place atop a mountain in mid-Wales, Epynt! Yes, it’s that time of year again when we can all share those grassy banks with fluffy white sheep and witness those magnificent men in their sometimes flying machines take on the much fabled Mynydd Epynt. The draw was great enough to stir me from my pit but only to catch the final runs over the new road where I ensconced myself at the double brows just after the farm. An interesting spot to see just who’s right foot is getting the Epynt twitch, and after a dozen miles taking crews to the far end of the military ranges who can blame anyone for releasing their buttock grip on the seat.
I took my little Fisher-Price “my first video camera” along and between bouts of dosing in the deck chair I had the foresight to equip myself with I shot some video that can only be described as being as rough as a badgers arse!
Great news! The video player above is fully seekable, you can drag the time bar to where ever you like and it will play straight away
I hope you enjoyed it anyway, sorry for the lack of Historics second time around but I’d dozed off. A thank you to the guys in the spectator control car for trying in vein to wake me from my slumber, I thought it was all a dream. I’d got to comfy and so sat out the historics final run, truth be told I was enjoying it far too much to half heartedly point the camera.
Hopefully see you all at the Mewla, I may even manage to haul my sorry backside that little bit further to go and see the panda that was spotted in the farm at the end of the New Road.
A lovely day and whole hearted thank you to Brecon Motor Club for running the event and all you peddlers for the spectacle. A big well done to Peter Lloyd on the win and commiserations to Melvyn Evans on the retirement, it was shaping up to be a bogey bashing weekend.
